Sarah and Michael currently work for the Deakin University Library and sit within the Digital Experience team.
The Digital Experience (DX) team is responsible for works to deliver user-centric experiences that engage and impress students and researchers. We aim to provide consistent, high-quality, scalable digital solutions for library users. We do this through a collaborative, end-to-end approach to identifying, designing and developing and managing experiences.
We are future-focussed, and actively seek opportunities to deliver digital experiences that extend Deakin’s reputation as a driver of leading-edge innovation. At the same time, we have a keen eye on delivering practical, continuous improvement to today’s library experience challenges.
Sarah is a Designer, some of the responsibilities of her role include:
Implementing library branding throughout LibGuides
Designing interactive digital displays for 12 large touch screen displays across our 4 campus libraries
Designing eLearning modules that sit within Cloud Deakin
Animated instructional videos
Library design system
Large scale print design
Running internal design training
She has previously spoken at:

Michael is a developer and his role is largely focused on teaching & learning and also supports System integrations, API development and implementing technical and accessibility best practices.
Some of the responsibilities of Michael’s role include:
· Supporting Learning and Teaching design and development for digital literacy modules within:
o Tumult Hype
· Development and support of the Library Design System
· Supporting systems integration with Library services:
o Library Chat
o LibCal opening Hours/desk bookings
· Development support for LibGuides
· Accessibility WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines for Library Site and eLearning content
